Hi All,

In this document i will explain the advantages and disadvantages of User Hooks, and how to implement them.

1. General Introduction

API User Hooks allow users to extend the business logic of the standard business rules that are executed by APIs. This is done by allowing custom

procedures to be called at specific points in the standard APIs. For instance, a user may want to implement User Hooks for one of the following reasons:

* To extend the validation of data beyond what the standard system provides.

* To maintain data held in extra customer specific tables (not part of Oracle Applications) as it is entered.

* To send alerts when particular events happen within Oracle Human Resources Management System(HRMS.)

Hi,

Many times we need a script to get all the approvers and their details like approver name, position, approval group, amount limit and so on. so today i will deliver this script. our Inputs for this script are:

business_group_id for the desired POSITION HIERARCHY , pos_structure_version_id for the desired POSITION HIERARCHY
Top position in the desired POSITION HIERARCHY. now we will use script to get our needed inputs first:

Extra Information Types (EITs) are a type of descriptive flex-field that help us to configure and store the extra information.Unlike the descriptive flexfield, EITs are child entities with separate tables to hold the information. It means one can store multiple instances of  an EIT for each main record.

Everybody of you know how important is Self-Serive w.r.t. to Oracle Apps. Its through self-service that employes and managers can request for transactions without actually having the access to the form-based system sitting in their offices, sipping hot coffee!!

For HR Consultants, its really very important to know this module in and out. Today we are going to see how to configure an Extra Information Type (EIT) as a separate function of Self-Service.
